Primary Election!!!!! I received 3,775 (49%) of the 7,713 votes cast in the Republican primary election for the 55th Legislative district. This compares with 25% for Frank Chrzanowski, 21% for Mary Kay Thayer, and 4% for Andrew Sosnoski. On the Democratic ticket, Mike Smith was unopposed and received 3,885 votes.

Student Statesmanship Institute Scholarship Recipient announced!. I am sponsoring a student from Leg. District 55 to attend the 5 day Student Statesmanship Institute in Lansing, July 25-30 for a Legislative Experience, as a mock member of the Michigan House of Representatives. http://voiceforthepeople.net/ssi.htm

  • January 21 at the Bedford Public Library in Temperance, MI and
  • February 17 at the Pittsfield Charter Township Hall.

A Parliamentary Procedure Interactive Workshop was held on February 24 at the Monroe County Community College and on April 7 at the Ann Arbor District Library for community leaders and activists to conduct more effective meetings. I am willing to conduct this workshop for other groups upon request. This is a fun, engaging way to learn the basics of Parliamentary Procedure, as you briefly hear the theory, put it into action through skits, and have a few laughs along the way.
